About Legal Services

The Legal Services Office provides legal services to the University in all its activities.

Principally that involves advice and services:

• to the Vice Chancellor and other senior officers of the University in respect of the business and organisational affairs of the University; and
• in connection with the research activities of academic departments.

The Legal Services Office is part of the Registrar’s Office and is situated on the ground floor of the North West Wing of the Main Administration Building.

The University was established by the University of Western Australia Act 1911 and has power to make statutes, regulations and by-laws. The governing legislation is available in the University calendar which can be found at the University Library or at
