Frequently Asked Questions Frequently Asked Questions FAQ

Signature

An authorised representative of each party should sign the contract and agreement. For the University of Western Australia only authorised persons should sign. Determine whether the contract is one within the appropriate accounting guidelines, for the purchase of goods and materials etc, or if not, or if outside those guidelines ensure that it is signed by those persons in Central Administration with proper authority.

Pitfalls

Execution by an unauthorised individual may result in the contract or agreement being unenforceable against that party. Execution by an unauthorised individual on behalf of The University of Western Australia may place the individual personally at risk in respect of the contract or agreement. It is particularly important that the person who signs for corporations and partnerships with whom The University of Western Australia contracts has authority.
