FOI Training

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (FOI) AWARENESS LECTURES

The FOI Coordinator at Legal Services Office offers short training sessions on the FOI Act, which will provide:

  • An understanding of the Act;
  • Inform you of an applicants legal right to apply for access to documents held by UWA and our obligation as 'Officers of an Agency';
  • Understand the process when a FOI application is received;
  • Recognise that we don't always release information contained in records/documents;
  • Be mindful of the timeframes to comply with a request; and
  • Be aware that everything you write down may be subject to a FOI application.

The FOI Coordinator, may also arrange to visit specific areas if this option suits your needs.
